Sandi Komst

Sandi has dedicated herself to painting and teaching in oils, watercolours, acrylics, and mixed media for over 30 years. Well known and loved in her home base of Prince Edward Island, with a network of colleagues across Canada and internationally, she has a strong presence and influence through frequent juried group and solo exhibitions, as well as workshops. An award-winning artist, her work hangs in private and corporate collections around the world including Canada House in London England, the Canadian Embassy in Russia, PEI’s Government House, and the Atlantic Ballet of Canada.

Her personal gallery is Out of Our Minds Gallery, located in PEI. Past studies with other accomplished, internationally known artists combine with an enduring drive to constantly hone and experiment with techniques, products, and materials – infusing her workshops with energy and excitement. Landscapes, figuratives, and still lifes are her subjects; constantly evolving and re-imagined yet instantly recognizable. Sandi particularly enjoys experimenting with the reductive method. Having experimented and evolved as an artist so much, she combines her personal abilities of encouragement, humour, and patience with deep technical teaching skills, delivering thoroughly enjoyable and productive workshops.
